Measuring
Measuring for window treatments can be the trickiest part of the process. Do you want an inside or outside mount? How much of a return do you want on your valance? How much of a gap will I have between my shade and the window frame? Will I be able to open my window if I go with a particular shutter frame?
These are all questions that need to be answered during the measuring process. Since every window is quite unique in size, shape and framing, an accurate, professional measure is critical in acheiving a nice fitting, nice looking window treatment. Pricing
Everybody is working within a budget for window treatments and there is a huge range of product and pricing options available to the consumer these days. As a rule of thumb, the more design and manufacturing time a product has, the more expensive it will be.
Blinds and shades cost can usually be determined by pricing "grids". Shutters by square footage. Custom draperies and fabrics, will depend on your designers time, the raw fabric cost per yard, fabrication costs and installation cost.
